The
school values close links with parents. We like to feel that parents
are always welcome
at school – as classroom helpers, listening to readers, working
in the library, but also as partners in the education of their children.
Should you wish to be more closely involved with the school, please
contact the school office, to arrange a police check.
We
try to ensure good communication between parents and school. This begins
when
children
start school in the Reception Class, through our
home visits. You are welcome in school at any time, but, should you need
to speak to your child’s teacher, it is usually advisable to make
an appointment, as it is not possible for teaching staff to leave their
classes during lesson time. Parents are invited in to special assemblies
or celebrations that might be held during the year and are especially
welcome at our end of term communion services.
We
aim to keep parents fully informed about the school and about pupils’ progress.
There are two formal “Open Evenings” during the school year
when parents are invited to discuss their children’s work, their
progress and their records of achievement. Half termly progress reports
based on effort and behaviour are sent home as well as the annual Pupil
Progress report in July.
Please
do read the newsletters which are sent home with your child as they
will keep you informed of events happening in school. If you feel
able to help us in school in some way, either by working with children,
preparing materials or becoming involved in the life of the school please
let us know.
