The
children and staff meet together every day for assembly. As a Church
school we aim to encourage children’s
spirituality, enable them to think of others, their school and their
community and to foster
the recognition of a loving God.
We
hope that all pupils and parents will feel comfortable and share
in the acts of worship, which aim to
celebrate major festivals and foster a sense of community whilst
also acknowledging the variety of race, culture and religion, which
exists
in our world. We
like all children to take part in our assemblies, but if parents wish
to
withdraw their child they should contact the
Head teacher who
will discuss alternative arrangements.
Children
are introduced to world religions during their R.E. lessons, where
the main emphasis of the curriculum
is on Christianity. During each school year children will be taught
about Christianity and the world’s other main religions.
